Crazy question, right?
There’s this prophetic book in the Bible, Zephaniah, that talks about how the Lord is going to sing over us with LOUD singing.
WHAT?! Yep, you read that right.
Have you ever been in a storm where lightning cracked the sky with such a bright flash that you knew you better brace yourself for the soon-approaching thunder? Then, when the thunder hits a few moments later, it booms so loudly that it shakes your house?
Yea. That’s the work of Almighty God.
Revelation 4:5 indicates that “Out of [His] throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder.”
Just imagine for a moment how vast His throne must be—so immense that the giant bolts of lightning flashing across the sky burst forth from it.
Thoughts like that make my brain explode. The human mind can’t even begin to quantify how large God truly is.
And if He’s powerful enough to send the booming thunder…imagine how loud His voice must be?!
Nahum 1:5 (NIV) says, “The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.”
Whew! We serve a powerful God, y’all.
What I love about the Zephaniah verse that describes God singing loudly over us is this: it’s an Old Testament prophecy about what the world will be like when God makes everything right again.
You see, life won’t always be as hard as it is right now. There won’t always be pain, suffering, tears, and heartache. The Lord is coming back for His people. The book of Revelation tells us that when Christ returns He will wipe away all of our tears, and there will be no more death or crying or even pain. (Revelation 21:4 NIV)
But that’s not all that is going to happen. The prophet Zephaniah indicates that when the Lord comes back for us, He is going to behave as a mighty warrior, saving us in His remarkable strength. (Zeph 3:17)
It says that He will take GREAT delight in us, His beloved children. (Zeph 3:17)
It says that He will be WITH us, and NEVER again will we fear any harm. (Zeph 3:15)
It says that He wants to quiet our souls with his love. (Zeph 3:17)
And it says that He wants to rejoice over us with LOUD singing. (Zeph 3:17)
I cannot wait to hear that beautiful sound.
How about you?
Til Next Time,
Liz

Life Update:
I know a lot of you have been waiting with bated breath to hear any update regarding the “agent situation.”
I can share some exciting news! One of the agents to whom I submitted my book proposal called me the other day to indicate that he would like to be my agent! He said he will send a contract in the next few days for me to look over.
I’m still praying about whether this is the path the Lord wants me to take. I deeply value your prayers as I seek to follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance in discerning whether I should move forward with this agent.
Regardless, I am HUMBLED BEYOND BELIEF that an agent is interested in working with me. Jesus is kind, y’all.
