It was the day that God decided to not just keep His power within Himself, but transfer that power to all of His people.
The Bible says that “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.” (Romans 8:11 NLT)
Who is that talking about?
It is talking about every single Believer in Christ who has not only acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but has also accepted Him as Lord over their life.
He has chosen to send His Holy Spirit to live inside those who love Him and follow Him.
As a result, we have direct access to the power of Christ!
And this is why the Bible says this:
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he WILL flee from you.” (James 4:7 NIV)
When I spent time searching this verse, I scrolled through every single version. As my finger continued to scroll, every single version/translation that I could find all said the same thing: WILL.
In other words, it’s non-negotiable. If we resist Satan, he WILL flee.
He has to.
Why? Not because of anything we have done. But because of the powerful blood of Jesus Christ and His constant presence and power that lives inside of us.
This should give you unbelievable confidence in God’s power in your life.
The Bible assures us that “The One who is in you is GREATER than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4b NIV)
As believers, we do NOT have to fear Satan.
Should we be aware of his schemes? Yes. Should we be prepared to battle through the tactics discussed in Scripture? Absolutely.
But fear him? No.
We have nothing to fear. Rather, he fears the power of Christ in US!
Don’t fall into his trap. He hopes that you will fear him, thinking he is somehow God’s opposite.
But he is NOT God’s opposite, he is merely an opposer. Why? Because they are not equals.
He is a mere created being, and not the Creator. His power is limited and kept on a leash. In contrast, God’s power is inexhaustible.
Be encouraged, today. Even as you face his attacks, you can overcome because of the finished work of Christ on that cross.
Resist the devil, today. He WILL flee from you.
Til next time,
Liz
